Forms Competition

Forms will be divided into divisions by age, rank, male and female as follows:
AGE DIVISIONS: (3-4), (5-6), (7-8), (9-10), (11-12), (13-14), (15-16), (17-32), (33-39), (40+)
BELT DIVISIONS: (WHITE, YELLOW, ORANGE), (GREEN, BLUE, PURPLE), (RED & BROWN), (BLACK)
Male and Female competitors are separate.
Competitors will compete 2 at a time for forms competition
in a bracket format where the winner moves on.
SPECIAL OLYMPICS DIVISIONS:
There will be Special Olympic Divisions. Please check
“Special Olympics Division” on the tournament application.
Grand Champion Awards will be given for Adult
Black Belt Forms and Junior Black Belt Forms.
Along with our Chris Canning Award for the most
SPIRIT, DETERMINATION AND SPORTSMANSHIP!

Sparring Competition

Sparring will be divided into divisions by age, rank, weight, male and female as follows:
AGE DIVISIONS: (3-4), (5-6), (7-8), (9-10), (11-12), (13-14), (15-16), (17-32), (33-39), (40+)
BELT DIVISIONS: (WHITE, YELLOW, ORANGE), (GREEN, BLUE, PURPLE), (RED & BROWN), (BLACK)
WEIGHT DIVISIONS: LIGHT WEIGHT & HEAVY WEIGHT
Male and Female competitors are separate. Demonstration
matches allowed with parent/instructor permission.

SPECIAL OLYMPICS DIVISIONS:
There will be Special Olympic Divisions. Please check
“Special Olympics Division” on the tournament application.
All Color Belts:
will spar 2 one-minute rounds with a 30 second rest period.
All Black Belts:
will spar 2 two-minute rounds with a 30 second rest period.
Finals will be 3 two-minute rounds.
There will be a match for 3rd Place. Only one 3rd place will
be awarded. All competitors will receive an award.
EQUIPMENT:
Safety equipment for sparring is mandatory! Participant must
provide their own headgear, chest protector, shin/instep
pads, fist/forearm pads, mouth piece, and support cup for all
males. No jewelry will be allowed. Finger nails and toe
nails must be trimmed!

AREAS FOR SCORING:
HEAD AREA (Controlled foot contact only. No hand
techniques to the head are permitted.)
BODY AREA (Includes the area covered by the chest
protector. Points will be awarded for effective punch or foot
strikes.)

VALID SCORES:
One point shall be awarded for legal foot technique or punch
executed with proper balance. Corner judges will determine
sufficient force for the awarding of a point, i.e. techniques
must be delivered with enough power to satisfy the corner
judges that a point has been scored. Head and body
techniques are worth 1 point.

WARNINGS:
• Any competitor that executes a kick to the head area that
results in a minor injury, shall receive a 1 point deduction.
• Any competitor that executes a kick to the head that results
in bleeding or the inability of the opponent to continue due to
the injury, shall be disqualified.
• No grabbing
• No holding
• No pushing
• No escaping contact by turning the back.
• No stepping out-of-bounds to avoid contact.
• No attacking with unauthorized body part (elbow, knee, head, etc.)
• No faking injury
• No attacking an unauthorized area (groin, back, legs, etc.)
• No intentionally falling to avoid contact.
• No attacking the head, neck, or face with the fist or hand.
• No uttering undesirable remarks or unsportsmanlike conduct
(either by athlete, coach, or any other individual associated
with the athlete.)
• No gesturing to celebrate a score.
FAILURE TO COMPLY WITH THE RULES WILL RESULT IN A 1 POINT DEDUCTION
OR DISQUALIFICATION AT THE DISCRETION OF THE CENTER REFEREE.

Breaking Competition

Breaking will be divided into divisions by age, rank, male and female as follows:
AGE DIVISIONS: (3-4), (5-6), (7-8), (9-10), (11-12), (13-14), (15-16), (17-32), (33-39), (40+)
BELT DIVISIONS: (WHITE, YELLOW, ORANGE), (GREEN, BLUE, PURPLE), (RED & BROWN), (BLACK)
Male and Female competitors are separate.

RULES FOR BREAKING:
1) 4 boards maximum for all color belts.
2) 1 minute set-up time for all ranks!
3) Maximum number of attempts on each break is 3.
4) Scoring will be on technique, level of difficulty, number of attempts, and size of the boards.
5) Black belts no limit on boards or concrete.
Boards must be purchased at the tournament.

Weapons Competition
Breaking will be divided into divisions by age, and rank as follows:
AGE DIVISIONS: (3-4), (5-6), (7-8), (9-10), (11-12), (13-14), (15-16), (17-32), (33-39), (40+)
BELT DIVISIONS: (WHITE, YELLOW, ORANGE), (GREEN, BLUE, PURPLE), (RED & BROWN), (BLACK)
Male and Female participants compete together for weapons only.
Only approved martial arts weapons may be used.
Weapons will be inspected by the judges before competing.
Competitors may supply their own music or props.

JUDGING WILL BE DETERMINED BY:
1) Creativity
2) Level of difficulty
3) Rhythm and flow of routine
4) Overall presentation
